BURNISHING CLOTH Burnishing the edge of a belt or other project evens out the edge wax, makes two joined pieces of leather look like one, and imparts a warm glow to the leather. One of the best burnishing fabrics is ballistic nylon, a large-weave, shiny, smooth fabric. A good substitute is sports nylon, such as a piece of an old gym bag or an outdoor banner.
